TownNews.com networks unaffected by OpenSSL Heartbleed bug

You've probably heard of the Heartbleed bug. It's a nasty OpenSSL vulnerability that can allow attackers to snoop on communications, steal data and impersonate users. (Visit Heartbleed.com for more information.)

TownNews.com partners can rest easy. We're happy to report that our network, and all sites hosted with us, are protected from this vulnerability.

Hi Aaron, thanks for the post. How do you suggest we respond to customers and others who run TownNews domains through well-publicized  "detectors" that declare our domains vulnerable. I've probably received a dozen or more emails and calls today alone demanding response to things like http://filippo.io/Heartbleed/#madison.com
Hey Tim, Remember that your BLOX site is actually http://host.madison.com which comes back as secure from that same service: http://filippo.io/Heartbleed/#host.madison.com.

Also, I checked many other TownNews.com sites using that service (no idea if it is a legit detector, but regardless...) and they all report secure.

Christine
That's correct Christine.  The secure domain for madison which we host is:host-dot-madison-dot-com.bloxcms.com which tests clean.
