We've also had this issue in Bakersfield, using InDesign 2014. Our solution is to Save As to the Desktop, then go in to the Blox folder for that day, move the offending page to the Backup folder, then reopen the page from our Desktop and save it back to the Blox folder. Just a workaround, I know, but it prevents us from losing data on deadline.

I too would be very interested in a way to batch export photos, or even to export single photos, particularly if the metadata can be kept with the image while exporting.
