Please make "Broadcast" option available in Total CMS

Is there any way to have the Broadcast options available in the Total CMS? We would like our reporters to be able to post their stories to Twitter and Facebook via the Broadcast option (under the "Other" tab in CMS), but all our reporters work in TCMS, where the option is not available.

It would also be nice to have the stories broadcast to the social media sites at the publication time set by the reporter.

We're definitely wanting to add this in to TCMS - it just gets very complicated.

We have customers that may have a TCMS site feeding multiple websites. The Broadcast channels may not line up one to one from TCMS to the website - it almost needs to be tied into the site tag somehow.

Since we are looking at TCMS I want to ask has this been added yet?

Where do you stand on enabling broadcasting to Twitter and Facebook from the TCMS? We have to remember to follow stories to Blox CMS to broadcast. Also, it would be useful to be able to set a broadcast time in the TCMS. For example, if a story for print goes live on the website at 12 a.m., it would be ideal to delay broadcasting until 6 or 7 a.m.

We are actually working on Broadcast for TCMS right now, and it should be out later this year. As for delayed broadcasting, let me get back to you on that.

I don't see this option in my TCMS but we are not running the Flex system... am I missing something or is it only available on Flex sites?

No, we're using it on Zen templates.

OK, cool... where do I find it in the TCMS?


Under the "Other tab" of an asset. However I don't remember if I had to setup all the channels before the interface showed up or not.

If you don't see the Settings / Broadcast panel, you'll likely need to ask for the appropriate group permission.


Also, Kevin, if you wouldn't mind sending me the bug tickets or CRM tickets related to the bugs you're describing? cmasters@townnews.com. I believe there are some additional requested improvements in the backlog, but I'm not sure if I'm aware of specific bugs related to this feature (but I can look into it).

Tickets 595901 and 596406 (both open since January) have the bulk of the issues.


(609007 is also still open but I'm now pretty sure it is actually the same issue as 595901 just from the other side of the timeline).
