Custom Facebook OG / Twitter Card metadata for certain Sections/URLs
We’re ramping up our annual Readers’ Choice awards and while working on our social media promotions I realized that our main contest page doesn’t share very well on social media.
It is a page with nothing but HTML assets so the Open Graph tags created by BLOX are all just generic ones for our site. None of the content or images on that page are used for in the metadata for the title, description, image, etc.
A feature I’d like to see added to BLOX would be the ability to create custom Open Graph / Twitter metadata for certain Sections within a site.
This would be helpful in my situation above, but could also be very useful on a day-to-day basis. For example we could reference our sports department’s Twitter account in the metadata for sports stories as opposed to our main news Twitter account.
What do y’all think?

Hi Kevin!
Most of those things are really URL custom properties (they can be assigned in site settings OR on a URL map), so it is possible to add different OG properties to, for example, the sports section.
Here are all the OG properties that are available:

Twitter Cards don't have any custom properties, because they are just automatic based on the content.

Excellent. However it seems a big omission is the OG Description tag. Could this be added?

For almost all custom properties on Zen templates, we can accept both site settings and URL properties. URL specific settings will override a setting on the URL root level, which will override the site setting.

Also, providing us with the list of the og_tags does nothing to help us implement them.
I want Facebook to automatically pull the associated headline, photo and description from each article when it is posted. It's 2015, this is not something I should have to set up myself.
As it -is- something I have to set up myself, we'd all appreciate a detailed explanation of which URL(s)* to edit and what values we can use for the property to ensure that Facebook automatically pulls the associated photo. If this is not possible, and we have to use a standard photo for all articles, please clarify this.
* I have been unable to find an article-level template, though there is a block that displays full articles. Do we edit the properties fo this block? The block's description would indicate otherwise.

Sorry for the misunderstanding, but all of these items are automatically implemented already and the details are in the document I referenced previously:

The title, description and photo are automatically pulled from the article. We'll use the prologue first (the summary tab), so if you don't like the first paragraph of the article you can type something into the summary tab and it will be used on all article previews (including blocks).
The only areas where you might want to customize the pages are on the section fronts and maybe the front page. Those will use the URL property description, so you can just type things there and they will be used (you should have a nice description there for search and seo purposes anyway).
