Yes, we have many sites that use external systems to scrape our email newsletter pages.

There are two important functions that our integrated solution takes care of for you that may pop up if you use our pages with an external system:

1. There are sometimes JavaScript or tracking information included in the templates (which are not appropriate for emails). Our system removes this automatically, so you may need to ask an external system to do that.

2. Our system creates special pages to help get breaking news out as quickly as possible (by creating a specialized version of the article page for email). It is possible that if you are using an external system to scrape BLOX pages, you may have issues with caching or may need to do cache busting to ensure you're getting an un-cached page.

Let me know if you have more questions about this!

Hi Tom!

I think this is a great idea!

As a temporary measure, however, just making sure you realize that if you hover over the icon you see a mini-popup? Not as user friendly as your idea, but good to know if you didn't. =)

Hi Andrea!

If you are asking specifically about page reprints, we are in discussions with Fotomoto about this now. We need to test this and make sure the image size is appropriate, and if so, it will be available within e-Edition, or by uploading front page images.

If you are asking about a "photo store" option in BLOX, this is something you can do just by creating a special URL and showcasing photos that can be sold.

Here is an example:

https://www.flex-showcase.bloxcms.com/photostore/?1234

That is done by creating several blocks showing images from the X section that have photo sales enabled.

I then used the "promo button" block to create a link to a search results page to see more of photos from that section. The ps=1 in the search query means to only show items with photo sales enabled.

You can also use other block layouts for this.

Hi Tom!

Could you please send me an email with more details, including:

- An example asset that you sent out

- The Notifier channel to which it was sent

- The approx. time you experienced the issue

Ditto what Maureen said! A few other notes:

- Fotomoto uses Bay Photo for photo prints - which was also used by MyCapture. So, the print quality will be identical. =)

- Bay Photo actually purchased Fotomoto a few years back.

- The integration is the same in that you'll choose whether the photo is available for purchase within BLOX and then it will get the BUY NOW button, then it just goes off to Fotomoto.

- The Fotomoto purchase workflow is actually done within an overlay so the end user doesn't have to leave your sight.

- Fotomoto focuses on prints and does not offer tshirts or coffee cups at this time.

Thanks!

I think it used to be that we could type in "30 days ago" in the search (what we call a relative search) and that would work. But, we had to change our datepicker and it seems we can't type relative dates in there anymore. I will see if this is something that can be changed.

However, I wonder if this will help in the meantime... you can still use relative dates in the search parameters:

https://www.flex-showcase.bloxcms.com/search/?d1=30%20days%20ago&d2=today&sd=desc&l=10&t=*&nsa=eedition

d1 is the earliest part of the date... where you can type in "30 days ago" or "yesterday" or whatever

d2 is the end of the search window, which can be "today" or "yesterday" etc.

Can you give me a few examples of this?

i.e. you have a special workflow for the Sports department, and articles created by the sports team would start off in that default Sports department workflow?

Hi Jeff!

This should be resolved now. Let me know if you have any additional issues!

Hi Jared!

We do have the ability to integrate with a custom WSI implementation - you need an API key and a clientID from WSI and then that's gets entered into our system. Then, you can use the standard  BLOX display widgets but they are populated with your custom data.

We are considering an integration with Barron (I think you and I have a meeting Monday to discuss?) but it isn't available yet.
