That is correct. For on-premise Circulation Pro customers there is a large fee to install their side of the integration. (This component is included in the monthly fee for SaaS Hosted Circulation Pro installs.)
As a refresher, what is the cost for y'alls side of the equation?
Rich, I agree that the integration would bring many benefits beyond just this one scenario.
Unfortunately the last time we priced it out it would be over $5,000 to get things going plus a monthly recurring fee.
That is a tough pill to swallow to replace functionality that has previously been free and is why I'm looking to hear what other papers are doing.
Christine, this update looks great and is exactly what we wanted. Thank you!
Aidian, that would definitely work and I appreciate the suggestion.
However it would probably be confusing to our users. I have enough problems getting them to check the right boxes already so adding in a procedure of "Check Centerpiece if it is an article or Alert if it is a Collection" would be a major pain.
Hopefully Town News will be able to expand the flags to these other asset types to keep things simpler for us all.
Nick, we're still pretty new to the Live E-Editions so have never seen it behave differently. I'm curious, is this something that used to work "correctly" but has now developed a problem or has it always been like this as far as you know?
Interesting idea Nick. This could come in handy during big news events that drag on for a while.
In the past we've had to go and create new blocks and URLs to aggregate this stuff, the Collection route would greatly simply things.
Yes! It would save so many clicks from having to do this manually...
Great news, thanks for the update Christine.
Christine,
This Centerpiece on Collections is the only missing flag that has really jumped out at us. Having this option will become even more useful to us once we can place Collections on an InDesign page through TotalCMS next year.
That said, my inclination would be opposite of yours in that making every flag available on every asset type could be useful.
For example, what if a publication wants to repurpose a flag such as “Watchdog” and use it for some other purpose like grouping a special project or something.
Having all tags on all asset types would help facilitate that easy repurposing which is something suggested here as the Alternative option.
Thanks

Thanks Michael, that was just the thing we needed. It is in place on our site and looks great.
