I haven't even seen this yet but I like the suggestions.

I'm bumping this back up around this specific issue that was never addressed in my original post. It has become a problem again, this time impacting the President of our parent company:

To me the worst part about this is that when that user attempts to resubscribe it silently fails. They receive no error message or warning that they are unable to subscribe. The mange newsletters box appears to show they are now subscribed but if they leave the page their subscriptions don’t “stick.” They’d only see this if they left and then returned to the same screen.

This became apparent with a call from a frustrated reader this afternoon. To them our website is simply broken.

I understand that Town News has to work within the confines of the Constant Contact system, but it really seems like there needs to be some additional functionality added around this feature.

We actually found through recent testing that if the image was large enough, and I think 600x600 would be, that Facebook would crop that into the larger size preview image instead of displaying it as the small square.

We had to size the image back down to 300x300 to get the little square.

But also of note, that little square will only display correctly on desktop. Mobile users will still get the cropped 1.91:1 ratio preview.

We have seen the same problem as well in the past but for us it is typically an ad that gets pulled in as the preview image.

We haven't seen the problem <knock-on-wood> since we started using the Social Broadcast functionality instead of posting links to Facebook manually.

Oh good call, I forget about that. Maybe the whole window/frames could be tinted or something.

It couldn't hurt. What about shading the backgrounds of the text input areas red as well?

Over a year later I want to bump this one back and ask about the status of SNI implementation at Town News.

This recent article made me realize we haven't seen an update.

Shoptalk: Why Journalists Need to Stand Up for Reader Privacy

I've seen it as well and as a reader it annoys me. I'm already here, just let me read without an extra click. To me is could also be confusing to some readers.

I'd be curious to learn the reasons this exists and what benefit sites are seeing from it.

Andrea we are in the exact same situation needing to migrate from an old home-grown system running in Lasso.

I'll be curious to hear what solutions are offered here.
