The way we've accomplished this in the past is by creating a gif. We had too much trouble with flash ads not being clickable anyway. It's a pretty difficult process to create a gif in Photoshop. So it would be nice to have a simple image slideshow that functions as an ad in BLOX.
Kevin, do you have an email address? I've looked you up on Galveston's website before but didn't find one. It'd be good to share ideas with someone else who is involved in BLOX on a daily basis.
Unfortunately if you're site(like ours) has multiple subscription services like CSV, free subscriptions, paid subscriptions you have to select each service in the dropdown. I would think somewhere would display all active subscriptions across all services.
We're in the process of giving all print subscribers online access free, which will help minimize the number of services.
I looked for this for quite a while several months ago and couldn't find a place that says "Your site has X total subscriptions." Which is pretty disappointing. This is the only workaround I've found...
I've saved that search as "Total subscriptions" in Subscriptions and then I look at the bottom right and it says how many results. I don't think this is exact because it doesn't match the numbers here...
I'd like an official way from TownNews to say "At this moment how many active subscribers do I have?"
This is something I've wanted on our site for a few years. As it is now I guess we would have to use phpBB or something simlar.
Seems to be working well. Thanks!
I tried this but it doesn't seem to be working for us either. I waited until today which was the first full day since I activated the mirroring but no luck.
I've never heard of that but I like the idea. So comments on shared links on Facebook would post to that article on our website?
Another issue I've dealt with when using the HTML block is special characters. When I put in © and save it everything looks fine. But when I open it back up it has © instead of the html code. If I edit something and save it the © becomes Â. Any future edits result in more Â.
It would be nice if TownNews had custom functionality to plug directly into Constant Contact's list. For instance we have three email lists(top stories, sports, breaking). So the user could pick one, two or all three. And the most important feature would probably be to determine how often a user sees the popup.

I like that even better!
I'd like to even have the option to send different images to different links. For instance we have a gift card campaign with about 9 different ads each linking to its respective site. But it's really all one campaign.
I know this is getting away from the simplicity of what you're describing but I would definitely use it just as you've described above, without any of the stuff I just suggested.
