AdOwl export for print edition

Charles Wilborn 3 years ago 0

Hello!

We are going to start using AdOwl as our primary manager for both web and print classifieds,

I understand we will be able to export files for our print edition, but will need to find a developer to write a script so we can import the file into InDesign. (We use InDesign 5.5 on a Mac system).

Does anyone have any experience with this or know of script developers to recommend for such a project?

Thanks in advance! :)

Feature Request: Ability to disable "swipe to next article" feature in NowApp

Tom Houston 4 years ago 0

While the "swipe to next article" feature in NowApp is a great way for users to easily swipe to a new article, the swipe (or slide) feature can be a hindrance when interactive content is included in the app. For example, traffic maps, games, and 360 video or photo elements. When a user tries to interact with these elements, we've found that the app's swipe feature overrides these interactions, providing for a poor user experience.

It would be helpful to have the option to disable the "swipe to next article" feature based on section.

TownNews weather blocks and WSI

Columbia Missourian 4 years ago 0

I'm looking for a site that uses WSI for weather data that feeds the TownNews weather blocks. Our meteorologist has a concern about how the high/low temps are showing, and I am trying to find another example to see if the behavior is the same. Most of the sites I know are in the Meredith group and use custom stuff for weather.

Progress on circumventing metered paywall with incognito browsers?

Jenna Duncan 4 years ago updated by Carl Appen 4 years ago 2

Just wanted to see if anyone has heard if there's a timeline for finding a fix to this issue: Users can circumvent the metered paywall once they hit their limit by using incognito windows, and it's been pretty rampant in the past few months.

The last meeting we had with TownNews they said they were aware of the issue and working on a fix, curious if there's an update on this.

Feature request: controlling the order of assets in The River Of News

Thomas Martinez 5 years ago updated by Mariel Tam-Ray 4 years ago 2

For those who use the TownNews e-edition:

We think it's important for our organization to control the assets in the River of News. Right now, according to TownNews, there is no way to control that. Basically, it just shows up in whatever order it does. They think it's feasible, but asked me to put in a feature request.

How important do you think this is? Would you use it to place importance on the the content in your River of News?

Thanks,

Thomas

Google feed api

Daniel Buford 9 years ago updated by David Dierker 4 years ago 2
I'm trying to add several feeds my mobile site using google's feed api. I've gotten the feed to work and when viewed from the desktop site everything works properly. However, in the mobile site adding the html causes other widgets not to display or to display improperly.
I'm including a copy of the code I'm using. Any ideals would be helpful.

<style>
#wrapper {
width: 100%;
max-width: 620px;
margin: auto;
padding: 0px;
display:block;
float:left
}
#WOTD {
font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;
font-size:12px;
}
.gfc-resultsHeader {
display: none;
}</style>

API for print and digital subscriptions

Mark Poss 7 years ago updated by Nicholas farnsworth1 4 years ago 1

Has anyone partnered with a third party to create an elegant interface for customers to purchase print or digital subscriptions that would also handle the ez pay recurring payments.  Was thinking about something that would dump a file daily to my archaic circ system that does a fine job of handling my mailed papers but doesn't handle the e-commerce piece.
